For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

What scale are the models at?

1” = 1.5m/5 ft., or approximately 1:72, but they are scaled proportionally to look good with 25-32mm miniatures (so, controls, seats, etc. look closer to 1:56. All items can easily be re-scaled in your slicer according to your desires.

Will you support smaller print bed sizes than specified?

We have adjusted the minimum required print bed sizes, and it turns out most printers can print at least the scout ship and shuttle. Check out the bottom of the main campaign page to see if your print bed is large enough!

Do the ships include deck plans?

Yes, a default tile layout is included for each ship.

I don't see any campaign specific add-ons that are a part of the All-In pledge!

The add-ons are being unlocked either through stretch goals or time locks, the first one is already on its way, Turrets Pack I. There are at least three more on their way!

Is the scout/shuttle the same as in the last Kickstarter?

Short answer: yes. Long answer: the scout ship and shuttle were never meant to be as detailed as they are now, but I gave this level of detail to my past backers for free with the intention of making the ships far more detailed for this kickstarter.

You don’t have to pledge again for the ships. However, if you do, you also get all the ship-related stretch goals as a part of it.

Can I mix and match variants?

Mostly. Most variants are compatible with each other, although some by nature (replacing the same part) are not. On the whole, we have tried to make them modify different parts for as much variance as possible.

What have you printed on?

I have a Prusa i3 mk3 and a Flashforge Creator Pro. The Prusa is by far my favourite and the one I would recommend.

What 3D printer would you recommend?

The best FDM printer right now by far is the Prusa i3 Mk3. It is quiet, accurate, constantly improved through firmware, and has a magnetic springsteel plate that makes removal a breeze. It is a bit pricey, but the best consumer model at the moment in my opinion.

If you are on a budget, the Ender 3 is what to go for - cheap, but with a large (and importantly, heated) build plate, it does a great job of PLA printing, which will do just fine!

Are interiors included in my pledge?

Yes. If you have pledged at any level which includes any ship, you also get all the interior OpenLOCK tiles from 2nd Dynasty to create the default Deck Plan layout for that ship and any others that you have pledged for.

Why is my order not processed yet? I ordered hours ago!

I am in a European time zone, and process all the orders manually. There is only one of me, and sometimes my US customers make an order whilst I am asleep. Please allow up to 24 hours for an order to be processed.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
